Founder of New Jersey Kids Fashion Week

Engaging. Connected. Visionary.

Josianne (“Josie”) Payoute is the founder of New Jersey Kids Fashion Week, creator of Eisoj Boutique, Co-Founder of " More Than What You See" Conference, host of The Black Brunch New Jersey and East Orange Democratic Committee Bella & Gents Kentucky Derby. She is a motivational speaker, visionary leader, personal brand developer, engaging presenter, designer, mentor, and socialpreneur all rolled into one vibrant package. Josie helps clients develop greater self-confidence and empowers them to boldly walk in their purpose through her work as a transformational coach, inspirational speaker and as a trusted image consultant, she helps clients stylishly share their brand story.

As a lifestyle professional with a background in HR, Josie is well-suited to build relationships and listen strategically. These core skills, coupled with a heart for empowering children and young women, a passion for fashion, and an ability to visualize unique possibilities, allows her to keep her well-manicured finger on the pulse of the marketplace. This deep connection resulted in Josie founding Eisoj Boutique with the goal of helping people look and feel their best through personalized fashion services and quality products, such as the celebrated, unisex “Josie” bag.

Her dedication to inclusiveness resulted in the creation of New Jersey Kids Fashion Week in 2015. Josie is passionate about making people feel loved, wanted, and that they matter, even in the competitive world of fashion. “It’s my destiny to serve and to show our kids they can do it, too,” says Josie. This annual fashion show provides an empowering platform for children—no matter their size, color, or background— to walk the runway.

Josie also uses her charm and engaging wit to serve as the vibrant host of The Black Brunch New Jersey and several other events. She performs behind-the-scenes interviews with the event’s special celebrity guests, such as Beth Diane Smith of HGTV’s ”Restoring Your Glory” and WBLS’s Deja Vu, and creates a warm environment perfect for fun and high-impact networking.

As an active leader in the community, Josie is the President of Sankofa Academy and sits on the Board of Trustees for the Leneus Family Foundation and Zany Scientists/Sci Edu-Tech. Always open and ready to share her story and inspire, Josie is a co-author of “Victim to Victory,” regularly volunteers at schools, and is a dedicated mentor of young women. In 2017, Josie’s service to others resulted in an honor at the Women Doing It Big Conference.

Josie graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology and was conferred an honorary doctorate of philosophy in humane letters by CICA International University and Seminary
